What We’re Tracking
- Patchy morning drizzle
- Cool end to the week
- Much drier pattern settles in
Areas of light drizzle and fog are possible in some spots this morning. Temperatures have fallen into the lower 40s with wind chills in the lower to middle 30s. The wind is out of the north at 10-15 mph.
Today will start off mostly cloudy, with clouds holding strong through lunchtime before gradually clearing during the afternoon. By evening, we should become partly cloudy. High temperatures will reach the lower 50s, making Friday the coolest day of the week. Cool conditions will linger into Saturday.
A warming trend arrives by Sunday, with temperatures returning to the 60s and more sunshine. Much of next week looks mostly dry, which will be welcome news since northeast Kansas is already running above average on rainfall. In Topeka, for example, rainfall totals are more than 5 inches above normal for the year.
