TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka school’s drumline shared its music at a local library this week as it kicked off its summer tour.
27 News caught up with the Topeka High School Cruzline drumline on Wednesday, June 11 as they played at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library. A large crowd filled the Marvin Auditorium at the library to watch the players perform.
“We come every year,” said Sal Cruz, instructor for the Topeka High School drumline. “This is a wonderful opportunity for people to see what the big guy does with the drum line. And this actually is one of the first gigs of our summer tour. It’s like this weekend we’re in Lawrence in the morning and then we’re just sitting in the afternoon. And then throughout the year we do over 100 shows all over Kansas.”

“My favorite part is getting to be able to go and play and just see the smiles on everyone’s faces, the tears from everyone to see how happy it makes them, how it just makes them just joyful and the great experience of playing for them,” said Santana Munoz with the Topeka High School drumline.
The Cruzline drumline performed several times throughout the day at the library. You can find more information about the performance by clicking here.
