Update Monday, June 16: The Ottawa Police Department issued a press release at 2:54 p.m. on Monday announcing that a 23-year-old woman was in custody in connection with the theft. She was arrested for theft, felony flee and elude and an out-of-state warrant.
OTTAWA (KSNT) – A Dodge Challenger, Hellcat Jailbreak Edition, escaped from a police pursuit on Sunday after it was stolen from a dealership in Ottawa.
According to a press release from the Ottawa Police Department, the suspects used a vehicle to crash into the Victory Dodge dealership sales floor early Sunday morning. The stolen Hellcat was spotted by Wellsville Police, who attempted to stop it.
The Hellcat fled into Johnson County, where multiple agencies attempted to stop the vehicle. The Ottawa Police Department reported that the Overland Park Police Department successfully deployed a spike strip, but the car kept fleeing.

The Wellsville Police Department stopped the pursuit as the vehicle fled eastbound on I-435 into Kansas City, Missouri.
“The department thanks all the agencies involved for their assistance trying to stop and arrest these brazen criminals,” the Ottawa Police Department said in the press release.
