KANSAS (KSNT) – The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) published its 2025 Independence Day Holiday Activity report detailing enforcement data over the holiday weekend.
The reporting period ran from 6 p.m. on July 3 until midnight on July 6. Over the period, the KHP assisted 618 drivers, issued more than 1,000 warnings and citations and worked two deadly crashes that resulted in two deaths.

This year’s data shows there has been a decrease in safety belt citations for children and adults, DUI arrests and speeding citations from 2023-2025. This year, the KHP made:
- 25 DUI arrests.
- 662 speeding citations.
- 503 speed warnings.
- 69 safety belt citations for adults.
- Six safety belt warnings for adults.
- Seven safety belt citations for teens.
- Two safety belt warnings for teens.
- 13 child restraint citations.
