TOPEKA (KSNT) – State transportation officials report that drivers should expect alternating lane closures on I-70 in both directions in Topeka for several weeks to come.
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) announced on KanDrive that it will be conducting paving operations on I-70 in both eastbound and westbound directions of traffic. Work is scheduled to begin on Friday, Aug. 8 and continue through to Friday, Oct. 31 this year in the following schedule format:
- Thursdays – Midnight to 6 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to midnight.
- Fridays – midnight to 6 a.m.
- Sundays – 5 p.m. to midnight.
- Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays – midnight to 6 a.m.
KDOT reports the area where this work will be taking place starts at where I-70 meets Sixth Street and ends where the highway connects to the Kansas Turnpike. You can learn more about the project by going to KanDrive.
