IOLA (KSNT) – A Lawrence man was seriously injured south of Iola after being involved in a three-vehicle crash that involved a semi truck.
Around 10:50 a.m., a 36-year-old Lawrence man was driving a Volkswagen Passat north on US-169 in front of a Kenworth semi truck driven by a 51-year-old Clay Center man. Another driver, a 22-year-old man from Oak Grove, MO, was driving a Honda Civic southbound on the highway, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
According to the KHP, the 36-year-old man went left of the center line, hitting the Honda Civic head-on. The Honda Civic hit the back of the trailer being pulled by the Kenworth.

The 36-year-old and 22-year-old were both seriously injured and taken to an area hospital for further treatment. The KHP reported that the 36-year-old wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
