What We’re Tracking
- Isolated showers north this morning
- Heating back up for the weekend
- Dry week ahead
A light wind from 5-10 mph from the east-southeast is preventing fog from developing this morning. We are watching some showers and thunderstorms that are moving southeast out of eastern Nebraska. These may clip our northeastern counties.
An upper-level ridge is moving over the area, bringing drier and sunnier weather this afternoon. Thursday will see highs in the lower 90s, with a gradual warming trend continuing through the second half of the week. Sunshine will dominate, and little wind means minimal relief from the heat.
Friday brings even hotter conditions, with temperatures climbing into the middle to upper 90s and heat indices reaching the triple digits. The weekend will continue the summer-like stretch, with highs holding in the mid-90s and minimal chances for rain.
Summer isn’t quite over yet, still six more weeks to soak up the sun, so enjoy the warmth while it’s here!
