TOPEKA (KSNT) – Some K-State fans are traveling all the way from the little apple to Dublin for the first game of the season.
For some families, this trip is more than just a football game.
“It’s cool to be able to like, I grew up, and it’s a big experience from my childhood and be able to kind of pass it along to my son Coop is pretty, pretty special,” KSU Fan, Nick Wood said. “So, we’re excited to check out new culture, check out the cats, and start of football season the right way”.
For fans that can’t make the trip, The Celtic Fox is hosting a watch party for the big game.

Wildcat faithful can still experience the luck of the Irish right here in Topeka.
“Well, it’s a pretty exciting day for both being an Irish pub, but also, you know, in Kansas with K-State playing in Ireland. So, we want to kind of focus a little bit on supporting local stuff and supporting, you know, more traditional Irish stuff,” Celtic Fox General Manager, Katie Turner said. “So, if you can’t be there, you should be here so that you can kind of get the same feel as the wildcats.”
The Celtic Fox will serve specialty Irish drinks and even green and purple beer.
