TOPEKA (KSNT) – A new gym in east Topeka is giving locals a chance to improve their health at any hour of the day.
Staff at Functional Fitness and members of the Greater Topeka Partnership (GTP) held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 21 for the new gym. Functional Fitness initially opened for business in March this year.
The GTP helped make the occasion a special one by promoting the new fitness center to the public this week. Functional Fitness is marketed as a place where everyone is welcome to stop by and get a boost to their physical fitness.
“I’m a professional bodybuilder,” said Junno Gardenhire, owner of Functional Fitness. “I didn’t want people to think that that’s what this is this is not that. At the end of the day, everybody’s goal is to be a better version of themselves and that’s what we’re all in here doing.”
