TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka man is facing multiple criminal charges after investigators said he traveled to another state to have sex with a teenage girl.
According to a release from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, agents arrested the 41-year-old man Friday morning while serving a search warrant at his home in central Topeka. The arrest comes after the Kentucky State Police requested assistance from the KBI.
In July, investigators say the man traveled to Kentucky where he had sex with a 15-year-old girl. He’s facing charges in Kentucky for allegedly procuring or promoting the use of a minor, unlawful transaction with a minor in the first degree, unlawful transaction with a minor in the second degree, and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
The suspect was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Extradition is expected. The KBI says additional charges against him are pending in Kansas.
