TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka City Manager Robert Perez spoke with 27 News about recent events and issues facing the city.
“Last month we discussed the letter of intent that was submitted by Endeavor Hotel Groups, and we have since been negotiating based on the provisions they have provided in their proposal,” Perez told 27 News. “Our goal is to have it sold by the end of the year.”

Topeka also recently had it’s first National Night Out, which an estimated 1,500 people attended. The event was put on by the Office of Inclusive Communities and City of Topeka staff, and it focused on connection, entertainment and family fun.
“It’s pretty important to have a series of local community events,” Perez said. “Throughout the year we’re always hosting events across the city so that the community can engage with the city and it’s departments.”

Perez also has full confidence in the team out-going city attorney Amanda Stanley had built. He knows it will be a large hole to fill, but says that Stanley trained her staff well. He looks forward to filling the position.
