TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka organizer is hosting a car show that will raise money to help fund custom-fitted protective vests for K-9 officers.
27 News reached out to event organizer CA Brocueleg to learn more about the Cruisn’ for a Cause car show that will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Dugout located at 1545 SW Fairlawn Rd. Brocueleg said the event will raise money to provide bullet- and stab-proof vests for K-9 officers.
“It’s time for us to come together and show appreciation for our four-legged heroes who put their lives on the line…” Brocueleg said. “As a community we can help ensure their safety. Every dollar counts, and collective efforts can drive meaningful change. Our K9 heroes deserve recognition and support for their unwavering dedication.”
Brocueleg said K-9 protective gear can be expensive. She said custom-fitted vests for K-9s can cost between $2,200 and $2,300.
