TOPEKA (KSNT) – A longtime tenant of West Ridge Mall has announced it will soon be leaving Topeka for Kansas City.
Build A Buddy Factory reported on social media that it will be departing from West Ridge Mall after eight years of helping local kids make memories and new friends. The store cited “ongoing maintenance issues and damages” as part of the reason for the change in venue.
“This has been the hardest decision we have ever had to make.
Thank you, Topeka, for being our very first home! Since opening in October 2017, you’ve welcomed us with open arms, and we will never forget where it all began.”

West Ridge Mall rolls out new interior layout map
The store is set to move to the Legends shopping center in the Kansas City area. This was recently sold to Tanger for around $130 million.
Build A Buddy Factory’s last day will be on Saturday, Oct. 4. The store will be holding an $8 off sale on purchases made there to celebrate the eight years it has been in business.
