TOPEKA (KSNT) – Visit Topeka announced on Friday that hotels across the Capital City are booked up for events in Topeka and Kansas City.
Hotels across the city and other major properties are sold out from Sept. 26-28 due to major regional events, including NASCAR, according to a press release from Visit Topeka. Other events are being held locally at Washburn University, the Stormont Vail Events Center and other local venues.
“This weekend’s sold-out hotels are a clear sign of optimism building for 2026 and beyond,” said President of Visit Topeka Sean Dixon. “Regional draws like NASCAR help showcase Topeka’s capacity to support large-scale events across the greater Topeka and Kansas City metro, which bodes well as we look toward milestones like the 2026 FIFA World Cup, America 250 celebrations and other major gatherings that will bring visitors to our area.”

Dixon said the demand reinforces the importance of Hotel Topeka for the city.
“I commend the City of Topeka for taking bold action to invest in its future under new ownership,” Dixon said.
