TOPEKA (KSNT) – A $5.9 million road construction project will slow traffic and reduce lanes on a highway in Riley County until early December.
The Kansas Department of Transportation will start working on a mill and overlay project on K-177 starting on Monday, Oct. 6. The project will span about eight miles from I-70 to K-18 near Manhattan.

KDOT reports the southbound lane will be finished first, starting at K-18 and progressing south to I-70. Crews will then work on the northbound outside lane, working back to K-18. The inside lanes will be completed in the same order.
The speed limit will also be reduced to 55 mph while lane closures are in place. Crews will work Monday through Friday during daylight hours. The project will be completed, conditions permitting.
