MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Kansas State University’s KAWSE program is hosting its 2025 GROW workshop aimed at engaging students in the connection between science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and environmental innovation.
The GROW workshop is designed to encourage middle students’ interest in STEM through hands-on activities. This year’s theme is all about ecological innovation.

“KAWSE programs aim to advance K-State’s commitment to create career pathways for learners of all ages,” said Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Innovation Margaret Mohr-Schroeder. “We’re excited to welcome students to campus and provide engaging hands-on experiences to ignite their interest in a future STEM career.”
The event is hosted by K-State faculty, staff and students. It offers an opportunity for students to learn about STEM-related topics, as well as experience the life of college academics.
The workshop is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 in the Atrium of the Engineering Building. All participants must register ahead online here.
