TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Greater Topeka Partnership has named the leader of a major local organization.
The GTP announced on Oct. 14 that Rhiannon Friedman is set to serve as the new president of GO Topeka. She will take up her new position on Oct. 27.
Friedman has previously served as the planning and development director for the City of Topeka and held leadership roles in local groups such as Downtown Topeka, Inc. and GO Topeka. She recently stepped down from her role with the City of Topeka in early August this year.
“Rhiannon’s leadership experience and her deep roots in this community make her an incredible choice to lead GO Topeka into its next chapter,” said Molly Howey, CEO of the Greater Topeka Partnership. “She has a proven ability to bring people together, drive economic growth, and champion the vision of a stronger, more connected Topeka.”

Neal Spencer, chair of the GO Topeka Board of Directors, said Friedman “is exactly the kind of forward-thinking leader we need.” He said her background in the private sector and city development have prepared her well to act as president of GO Topeka.
“Rhiannon’s return to GO Topeka is more than a homecoming, it’s a strategic step forward for our organization and our community,” said Stephanie Moran, interim president of GO Topeka and SVP of Innovation. “Her collaborative spirit, innovative mindset, and deep commitment to Topeka’s future make her the ideal leader to guide our economic development efforts into a new era.”
GO Topeka’s mission is to leverage the strengths found in the community to create new economic growth opportunities in the Capital City, according to its website.
