TOPEKA (KSNT)- The Topeka Scarecrows: tell your friends.
Topeka’s newest pro sports team is off to a 3-0 start after beating the Biloxi Breakers Friday night 5-2 in front of a packed crowd.
The Scarecrows got on the board when Thomas Murphy found the back of the net five minutes into the contest. TJ Sneath doubled Topeka’s lead 2-0 a little bit later in the period.
Biloxi struck back in the period to make it 2-1.
Topeka got back to business in the second period as Murphy grabbed his second of the night to give Topeka its two goal lead back. Elijah Wilson then added goal number four late in the period off the power play as Topeka was beginning to feel it.
The Breakers would pull one back in the third but it wouldn’t matter as Scott Coash would finish it off with a fifth goal to give the Scarecrows a 5-2 win.
The win marked the first for Topeka in front of the home crowd.
The Scarecrows are back home Saturday night and will look for the sweep over the Breakers.
Puck drop set for 7:05.
