EMPORIA (KSNT) – Emporia is celebrating the opening of a new gas station.
On Oct. 22, Emporia’s Walmart opened a place to fill up. It has 10 pumps and a convivence store. The shopping center says they’re excited for the impact the station will have in the community.
“The biggest thing is just to have traffic flow and getting customers to the store and checking out and just giving a convenience store with Walmart prices,” said Mike Schroeder, Store Manager.

“We have been wanting something out here by Walmart,” said Kinsey Wright. “There’s not a lot of selection actually on this side of town for gas stations. So having this here at Walmart is actually super convenient, especially if I need to go in get my groceries and then I need to come back and get some gas.”
The station will give out free coffee from 8 to 10 a.m. for the next two weeks.
