TOPEKA (KSNT) – There’s a new way to navigate the justice system in Shawnee County.
On Oct 3rd, a ribbon cutting ceremony unveiled the self-help center in the Shawnee County Courthouse. It has five computers with access to online justice system resources, and staff to help answer questions. There’s also an attorney on Friday that can help with deeper legal issues. Shawnee County was the last of the Kansas urban courts to get a self-help center.
Election reminders for Topeka and Shawnee County
“Being one of the most populous counties in the state we felt it important so that our citizens had access to the same resources that citizens in Johnson County, Wyandotte County and Sedgwick County had,” said Lea D. Welch, court administrator.
The center is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
