EMPORIA (KSNT) – Washburn holds the crown in round two of the Turnpike Tussle.
Washburn women’s basketball defeated the Lady Hornets 63-52.
In the last Turnpike, Washburn defeated the Hornets 86-59.
This time around, the ‘Bods shot 42.6% from the floor and 30% from deep. The Lady Hornets shot 32.3% from the floor and 30.4% from beyond the arc.
“I feel like our girls did a really great job game plan defensively, but just offensively we couldn’t score,” Emporia State head coach MJ Baker.
Washburn led by seven at the half and would go on to outscore the Hornets by only four points in the second.
