TOPEKA (KSNT) – The City of Topeka is monitoring the weather ahead of a forecasted arctic blast this weekend.
City of Topeka spokesman Dan Garrett said in a statement on Jan. 21 that city workers are keeping an eye on the forecast and are preparing for the possibility of snow arriving in the coming days. There is a chance of snow arriving by late in the day on Friday, Jan. 23 and into Saturday, Jan. 24.
Garrett said locals are encouraged to use parking garages if visiting the downtown area in the event of snow. He said that using these garages will place less strain on snow plow crews who are working to clear streets.
