EMPORIA (KSNT) – Emporia has a new and improved canine wellness center that has a full pool for your dogs to train in.
Heartland Hound started as a dog training facility, and now it has acupuncture and water lessons in its aquatics center. The water lessons are for senior dogs recovering from surgery, managing mobility issues like arthritis, or fitness conditioning.
The center provides a low-impact approach to help build up the confidence of senior and injured dogs.
“We have so many dogs that come to us because we haven’t had extensive offerings like this before,” said Kasey Flynt, owner of Heartland Hound. “And so these dogs come to us who are just lacking confidence and seeing seeing dogs that start out really timid when they first come into the space. And over the course of 6 to 8 weeks, just growing into this confident dog that is trying new things and, you know, just really creating their own personality and learning to love living in the world, that’s what we like to see.”
