TOPEKA (KSNT) – A sneaky raccoon caused a ruckus at a local liquor store after he fell through its ceiling.
A raccoon rudely broke into Carbondale Liquor at 417 South Topeka Ave. in Carbondale recently. The raccoon’s escapade, which was captured on video, began after it fell through part of the ceiling inside the store.
Carbondale Liquor Owner Emily Gorman said she suspects the raccoon had been planning this break-in for a while as she’s been hearing noises coming from the attic space. Staff were able to chase the raccoon out the door, but Gorman said it quickly returned to its home in the attic.
“I’m just hoping that I can get it out of here and move to another location because I don’t want anything broken or I already have to fix the ceiling now,” Gorman said.
Are Kansas raccoons becoming domesticated?
Gorman said she hopes to catch the raccoon with traps and move it. She said no products were taken or damaged during the raccoon’s heist.
