TOPEKA (KSNT) – State troopers said a Topeka man is injured after he stepped outside of his vehicle to push it off the highway and got rear-ended by a car.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 3 near mile-marker 187 on I-70 in Shawnee County. The driver of a 2013 Lincoln MKS had stopped in a westbound lane of traffic and was trying to push his vehicle out of the highway after being involved in a separate collision when the crash happened.
A driver in a Ford Focus traveling westbound on the highway hit the Lincoln from behind. The driver of the Lincoln, a 50-year-old Topeka man, had minor injuries as a result of the collision.
