WABAUNSEE COUNTY (KSNT) – A Kansas man is dead following a medical emergency on I-70 in Wabaunsee County Thursday morning.
The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office announced in a social media post the incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. on Feb. 5 near mile-marker 334 in the eastbound lanes of I-70 just south of Paxico. A 38-year-old Kansas man began to experience a medical emergency and, despite lifesaving measures by responding sheriff’s deputies, died at the scene.
Wabaunsee County Sheriff Eric Kirsch said the man who died is a Kansas resident. He said the name of the man will not be released until his office has made contact with his family.
