TOPEKA (KSNT) – State troopers say multiple people were injured after a crash Friday afternoon in Nemaha County, including several Topeka residents.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred shortly before 4:10 p.m. on U-36 Highway one mile east of where it meets K-236 Highway in Nemaha County. The crash resulted in nine people being injured.
State troopers said a 2013 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on U-36 when it started to move left of the center, passing two other vehicles in the eastbound lanes. The result was a head-on collision in the eastbound lane between the F-150 and a 2007 Ford Econoline.
The 71-year-old Frankfort man driving the Ford F-150 was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. His passenger, a 25-year-old man from Frankfort, was also transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Both passengers were wearing their seatbelts.

The driver of the Ford Econoline, a 28-year-old man from Topeka, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Six passengers in the vehicle were all hospitalized due to the crash, many of them with serious injuries despite wearing their seatbelts. The status of four other passengers who were in the vehicle is not listed as they left the scene of the crash.
