TOPEKA (KSNT) – Part of Northwest 46th Street in Shawnee County will be closed soon due to a road work project.
Shawnee County Public Works announced on Feb. 10 there will be road closures on the eastbound lanes on Northwest 46th Street between Fielding Road and Button Road for the installation of an underdrain pipe.
The county expects the closures to begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23 and construction is anticipated to take seven business days to complete. The construction’s start date could be changed depending on local weather conditions.
Shawnee County spokeswoman Amanda Monhollon said eastbound traffic on Northwest 46th Street will be detoured north on Northwest Fielding Road, then to Northwest Hunters Ridge Terrace, then east on Northwest Hunters Ridge Terrace to Northwest Button Road. Drivers will then be directed south on Northwest Button Road to Northwest 46th Street.

Drivers on westbound Northwest 46th Street will be restricted to one lane of traffic.
