MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Traffic will be switched onto new concrete pavement on Anderson Avenue in Manhattan.
The Anderson Avenue project is switching into a new construction phase on Feb. 17 that will switch traffic on Anderson Avenue between Connecticut Avenue and Timberlane Drive on the south side. There will be a crossover on the east side of Timberlane Drive.
The City of Manhattan is urging caution driving through the work zone and it expects traffic delays on Anderson Avenue, College Avenue, College Heights Road and Connecticut Avenue.
Road work starts soon on NW 46th Street in Shawnee County
The change in traffic control is a result of the first phase of the Anderson Avenue project, which is a set of construction projects aimed to improve roadwork in the area. The switch is done so work can be completed for the project’s Phase 1B, with the closure of the west bound lanes of Anderson Avenue.
According to the city, the project is anticipated to be completed in 2027. Manhattan drivers can visit the Anderson Avenue project website for updates on detours and maps.
