MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Series sweep for the Jayhawks.
The Kansas women’s basketball team (17-11, 7-9 Big 12) beat K-State (15-14, 8-8 Big 12) on the road 75-68 to complete the series sweep in the Sunflower Showdown.
S’Mya Nichols had a team-high 17 points for Kansas in the win. Jaliya Davis and Regan Williams had 16 each each while Lilly Meister finished with 14.
For the Wildcats, Tess Heal had a game-high 19 points. Nastja Claessens and Brandi Harrod scored 13 each in the loss.
Kansas led by double-digits early in the first half before K-State closed the half on a 14-0 run to tie the game at 33 going into the half.
After a back and forth quarter, Kansas would outscore K-State 27-21 to close out for the win.
The Jayhawks dominated the first matchup between the two in Lawrence on Jan. 23.
Kansas will stay on the road on Wednesday to square off with No. 20 Texas Tech.
K-State will travel and take on No. 15 Baylor on Monday.
