TOPEKA (KSNT) – The final weekly honor goes to a Topeka native.
Missouri Western’s Ty Henry was named the final MIAA Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week after a pair of standout performances for the Griffons.
Henry is a 2022 graduate from Seaman High School. He helped the Vikings to a 5A state championship in his senior year.
He scored a team-high 20 points in the win over Emporia State on Feb. 25. He followed up with a 31-point outburst on Feb. 28 in a win against Newman to help secure the No. 4 overall seed at the MIAA Tournament.
Henry averages 14.3 points per game to go along with four rebounds for the Griffons.
Missouri Western will take on No. 5 Arkansas–Fort Smith on Friday, March 6 in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament.
