TOPEKA (KSNT) -Trail advocates took to the Capitol for Kansas Trails Appreciation Day on March 5.
This marks the sixth year for the event, bringing local organizations and trail enthusiasts from across Kansas to the statehouse on Thursday. Local organizations talked about the impact of trails on economic development and tourism.
“From all walks of trail life. So you have bikers here, you have canoeists, you have horse riders, so you have everybody that’s involved in the trail community and supports the trail community. This event allows people to reconnect and think about their trail, maybe in a different way, by talking to someone else from another part of Kansas,” Executive Director of Kansas Trails Mike Scanlon said.
