TOPEKA (KSNT) – Work crews are assessing lighting problems at a bridge that connects north Topeka to the Oakland neighborhood as of Monday.
The City of Topeka recently contacted Evergy to address recent light concerns at the Sardou bridge. Matt Lucht with Evergy told 27 News that workers are looking into a light outage that occurred on the bridge on March 9.
“Crews have been sent to investigate the cause of the outage and aim to have lights working this evening,” Lucht said. “Additional troubleshooting and repairs may be required. Depending on the nature of the work, traffic on the bridge may be restricted when crews are working.”
Amanda Knowland with the City of Topeka said the lights on the bridge are owned and operated by Evergy. She said the city is aware of the problem.
