JEFFERSON COUNTY (KSNT) – State troopers report at least one person is dead following a late-night crash in Jefferson County on Sunday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 8:50 p.m. on March 8 at the intersection of Half Mound Road and Coal Creek Road a few miles north of Valley Falls. Two vehicles were traveling east on Half Mound Road side-by-side at the time of the incident.
The KHP reports that a passenger in the rear of one vehicle exited the vehicle while it was in motion. The second vehicle then hit the passenger. The KHP did not release the name of the crash victim.
