MAYETTA (KSNT) – A rock band first formed in 1974 is set to play live at a local casino in northeast Kansas this spring.
Prairie Band Casino & Resort announced that Jefferson Starship will be performing live at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23. Tickets are on sale at around $50 each.
Jefferson Starship launched in 1974 with original members John Barbata, Craig Chaquico, Papa John Creach, David Freiberg, Paul Kantner, Peter Kaukonen, and Grace Slick, according to the band’s website. The band’s debut album, “Dragon Fly,” was released in 1975. The band’s current lineup includes:
- Jude Gold – lead guitarist
- Chris Smith – keyboardist
- Cathy Richardson – lead singer
- Donny Baldwin – drummer
- David Freiberg – multi-instrumentalist

Jefferson Starship has 17 songs listed on the Billboard Hot 100, along with two top 10 hits. Some of their big hits include “Miracles,” “Count On Me,” “Runaway” and “Jane.”
