TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Kansas Department of Transportation plans on starting a bridge improvement project on U.S. Highway 75 in Osage County next week.
Kate Craft with KDOT announced in a press release that a bridge deck replacement project will start on March 18 on the Marais des Cygnes River bridge near the K-31 interchange. The project will restrict the bridge to one lane, and the department expects traffic delays of up to 15 minutes.

According to the department, work will occur during daylight hours Monday through Friday and Saturdays if is needed.
The $4.4 million project is part of six U.S. Highway 75 bridge improvement projects in Osage County, and the bridge is expected to be completed by early December. The contractor for the project is a bridge construction contractor, A.M. Cohron & Son Inc, which is based out of Iowa. A second bridge deck replacement project is scheduled to start in 2027.
