TOPEKA (KSNT) – A local man is dead following a crash in Wabaunsee County last weekend.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred between the hours of 11 p.m. on Friday, March 13 and 9 a.m. on March 14 at the end of a driveway a short distance east of where Wabaunsee Road and Pavillion Road meet. A Jeep Wrangler left the road to the south, becoming airborne for a distance just short of 30 feet before it landed in a nearby ditch.
The KHP said the Jeep came to a stop after it hit a tree. State troopers cannot identify the exact time the crash occurred as the crash notification came out at just after 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 14.
Danny R. Miller, 59, of Alma, was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, according to the KHP. First responders declared him dead at around 9:15 a.m. on March 14. He was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
