WABAUNSEE COUNTY (KSNT) – State troopers report five people, including a two-year-old girl, are hospitalized following an I-70 crash in Wabaunsee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened just after 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near the Paxico Rest Area. The driver of a Ford F-150 was traveling east on the highway with several passengers inside just before the crash occurred.
The driver, for an unknown reason, left the highway to the right, overcorrected and crossing the eastbound lanes. The Ford then hit the limestone embankment in the median.
The KHP said the driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old woman from Topeka, was hospitalized with minor injuries. The other passengers inside the truck, an 11-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl all were hospitalized with minor injuries.
