TOPEKA (KSNT) – Work at a major Topeka employer will come to a halt for seven days in early April.
Kylie Ulanski, a media spokeswoman for the tire production company Goodyear, told 27 news on March 17 that work will be temporarily halted at the Topeka Goodyear plant next month. She said the shutdown is set to last for one week total from Sunday, April 5 through to Sunday, April 12.

“Goodyear continually reviews and adjusts production schedules to balance demand and operate as efficiently as possible,” Ulanksi said in a statement sent to 27 News. “As part of this process, the Goodyear-Topeka plant will be temporarily shut down beginning April 5, 2026, and is scheduled to resume operations on Sunday, April 12.”
Goodyear is one of the biggest tire manufacturing companies in the world, with its Topeka facility employing around 1,600 workers, per a 2022 report from the Kansas Department of Commerce. The Topeka Goodyear plant can be found at 2000 U.S. Highway 24.
