SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) – The U.S. Post Office has reportedly come to a final decision on moving a local post office in the Berryton community.
The USPS announced in March that it has identified a potential new home for its post office located at 7049 SE Berryton Rd. in Shawnee County. The postal agency initially announced it was searching for a potential new home for this office last summer.
The USPS has identified Lot 7 at 2500 Southeast 77th St. in Berryton as the potential new location for the postal office, which isn’t far from the former office. However, if this location doesn’t turn out to be ideal for the post office or if an agreement cannot be reached with the property’s current owner, the USPS will consider other sites.
The postal service began looking for a new location for this office primarily due to space deficiency at its old location. People can expect to find the same services at the new location that were previously offered at the old office once it opens.

The USPS will continue to provide services to local residents at the Tecumseh post office location until the replacement facility is open.
