ALLEN COUNTY, Kan. — Authorities confirm a young child has died after an incident on a rural southeast Kansas farm about 2.5 miles northwest of Elsmore.
The Allen County Sheriff says they received a call on Monday evening, March 16, about a two-year-old who was backed over by a truck and that the parents were on their way to the hospital with the child.
The dispatcher worked with the parents and they made it to about three miles east of Humboldt where they met an ambulance. First responders transported the girl the rest of the way to Allen County Regional Hospital. She was later flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital, where she died.
Deputies are investigating but they do not suspect foul play at this time.
