KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A portion of U.S. Highway 59/Iowa Street in Lawrence, Kansas is scheduled to close this weekend for bridge work.
The work is part of the Kansas Department of Transportation’s (KDOT) K-10/South Lawrence Trafficway project.

According to KDOT, the area of U.S. 59 under the K-10 bridge will fully close at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 20, for construction and girder replacements on the new K-10 bridge.
Ramps to and from K-10 will remain open during the closure, according to KDOT. Through traffic on U.S. 59 can follow the marked detour on West 31st Street, Haskell Avenue/E. 1500 Road and N. 1000 Road, or use alternate routes that are not marked.

KDOT says the area will remain closed until work is complete, or no later than 6 a.m. on Monday, March 23.
