JEFFERSON COUNTY (KSNT) – Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig has announced his retirement this week after years of service to the local community.
Herrig made the announcement through a letter to the community on the sheriff’s office’s website on April 1. He said his last day in the position of sheriff will be May 30 this year.
“It has been a profound honor to serve my community and represent the values of integrity, responsibility, and public service throughout my tenure. My time at the Sheriff’s Office, I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated deputies, staff, and community members who care deeply about the safety and well-being of our county. Together we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and built strong relationships that make this community a safer and better place to live.”
