TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Board of Education has approved intermittent leave for USD 501’s superintendent.
Aarion Gray with Topeka Public Schools confirmed to 27 News the Board of Education has approved a request from USD 501 Superintendent Tiffany Anderson of intermittent leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Anderson made this request to help give her time to care for a family member.
Anderson will continue to serve in her role as the district’s superintendent. USD 501 reported this is not to be considered a leave of absence.
“It is important to note that Dr. Anderson is not on a leave of absence. She continues to actively lead the district and maintains a strong and consistent attendance record. In fact, most appointments related to her mother’s care are scheduled outside of the school day.”
