SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) – A local bridge will be closed for several months this year while Shawnee County road crews work to replace it.
Amanda Monhollon, public information officer for Shawnee County, said in a press release that workers will close a bridge on Northeast Calhoun Bluff Road that crosses over Old Indian Creek. The closure, set to start at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 27, is about one mile west of K-4 Highway.
Shawnee County will not post a formal detour for this project but will put up signs notifying drivers of the bridge closure.
Total I-70 closure, Topeka Boulevard bridge reopening soon
Monhollon said the bridge replacement work will include the installation of new concrete box drainage structure. The county is set to reopen Northeast Calhoun Bluff Road on Friday, Aug. 28 this year.
