OSAGE COUNTY (KSNT) – Tornados reportedly touched down in parts of northeast Kansas Monday afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a tornado warning shortly after 6:30 p.m. on April 13 for parts of northeast Kansas. Weather spotters confirmed a sighting of a tornado on the ground at 7:43 p.m. near Ottawa, according to the NWS. According to the City of Ottawa, the storm saw no loss of life or injuries, but structural damage has been reported. The city also said that all of its emergency personnel, along with Franklin County, are currently responding to the storm.

Areas included in the earlier tornado warnings include Franklin, Osage and Lyon Counties. Damage is being reported in areas around Pomona and Ottawa where tornadic activity was observed.

Damaging winds and near tennis ball sized hail were also reported with this storm. Earlier warnings were canceled as the tornado-producing storms moved east towards the Kansas City area.
