TOPEKA (KSNT) – If you’ve visited the West Ridge Mall recently, you might have noticed it’s been a little warmer than usual.
The chief maintenance officer, Kelly Foster, said that last month, AIM Strategies began installing a new HVAC system at the mall. It was a complete retrofit, replacing the original system installed 40 years ago, back in 1986.
With the installation nearly complete, Foster said you can already notice the difference.
“Getting some relief,” Foster said. “We got a little relief yesterday. We’re getting a little bit today. Next week, hopefully full till we’re on easy street.”
The new HVAC systems aren’t the only big upgrade underway at West Ridge Mall right now. The building is also getting a new roof.
