TOPEKA (KSNT) – State troopers report an Emporia man is hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Morris County Thursday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 5:50 a.m. on April 23 on K-177 northbound just south of Dam Road. The crash involved a 2023 Toyota Corolla and a 2026 BMW X5.
The KHP said the driver of the Toyota was heading south when, for an unknown reason, he crossed the center line and side-swiped the BMW. Both vehicles came to a stop in the east ditch.
The driver of the Toyota, a 22-year-old Topeka man, had no injuries following the crash, according to the KHP. The driver of the BMW, a 53-year-old Emporia man, had serious injuries.

Medical personnel transported the Emporia man to a local hospital in Morris County. Both drivers involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts.
