CLAY COUNTY (KSNT) – A Kansas man is dead following a crash in Clay County Thursday afternoon.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at 3:50 p.m. on April 23 on Fourth Road just east of where it meets with Kiowa Road in Clay County. The crash only involved one vehicle: a 2002 Toyota 4Runner.
The driver of the Toyota was heading east on Fourth Road when he entered the south ditch, according to the KHP. The driver reportedly overcorrected, reentered the road and rolled over once before he came to a stop with his vehicle on its wheels.
The KHP said the driver, identified as 65-year-old Michael F. Ketchens of Russell, died as a result of the crash. The KHP said he did not have a seat belt on when the crash occurred.
