SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) – A local street in Shawnee County near the Auburn community is closed Monday following flooding-related damage in the area.
Amanda Monhollon with Shawnee County Public Works said that part of Southwest 93rd Street is closed following a culvert washout that occurred overnight during a period of severe weather. She said the closure runs from 7325 SW 93rd St. to 7050 SW 93rd St.
Monhollon said the road is closed to all through traffic while workers evaluate the extent of the damage in the area and complete repairs. No signed detour will be put in place and drivers are encouraged to find alternative routes to get around the closure.
New Casey’s could be coming to west Topeka
Shawnee County Public Works cannot report when the work will be completed and when the road will reopen at this time. However, it will release an update with a reopening timeline following initial site assessment work.
